Payroll Coordinator – Hillcrest DBN
Applications are invited for the position of Payroll Coordinator. The Payroll Coordinator will be situated in the National Office, Hillcrest.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
3 year Degree / Diploma, or a Grade 12 certificate; plus
Formal qualification in VIP Payroll, plus;
5-10 years experience in VIP Payroll and Human Resource related environment;
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES
Manage and coordinate all VIP Payroll functions;
Administer and capture all forms of leave submitted by the various Offices/Provinces onto the VIP Payroll system;
Administer and capture all subsistence and travel claims submitted by the Offices/Provinces;
Provide payroll information and advice to the Management of the organisation;
Updating of leave and bonus provisions on the VIP Payroll system;
Administer and update the cellphone schedules and billing information for the organisation’s service providers;
Administer union deductions for employees of the organisation through the VIP Payroll system;
Administer and print all month end reports and schedules;
Administer all incoming emails, follow-up and respond as required to all queries;
Process and reconcile all month end VIP Payroll payments, such as third party payments;
Reconcile and process billing statements for employees Provident Fund payment through Old Mutual;
Prepare and print all financial documents for the Finance Department;
Administer and monitor all garnishees and IT88 payments through the VIP Payroll system;
Filing of all payroll records for audit and checking purposes;
Administer and monitor all payroll/leave files, and update where appropriate;
Administer and complete cash book monthly reconciliation;
Maintaining a filing system and filing of all correspondences;
Compiling accurate records and reports;
Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
Ability to cope with a demanding workload.
Maintaining a database on excel and other software programmes on the activities of the VIP Payroll functions;
Regular communication to provincial offices and structures in the union;
Computer literacy and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint;
Strong organisational and writing skills;
Requirements of the successful candidate:
- Sound knowledge of VIP Payroll.
- Computer literacy.
- Excellent people skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
